Night formats and themed nights for venues in Pavia
This page is for people who already have a venue. You do not need the counter: you have yours, you have the licence, you have the door and you have the staff. What an ordinary night is missing is a reason for people to come on that night rather than another one.
A format is that reason, and it is a rule the whole room agrees to play by. It is not themed decoration or a name on a poster: it is a mechanic that changes how people behave with each other for four hours. If it works, word of mouth carries it to the next night; if it is only styling, it ends with the last drink.
How a themed night gets built in a Pavia venue
The night is designed with the host venue, from the concept to the door. The concept is the rule; the door is how the rule is explained to whoever walks in, and the two get decided together, because a mechanic that needs two minutes of explaining at the entrance is not a mechanic.
In between sit the concrete parts: the drinks menu, written with you and tasted before the date, and the service, which we can cover with two bartenders. What we do not do is ship equipment and leave you to it: we do not rent out a bar, we bring a night.

A night that actually ran: the Traffic Light Party at Alquimia
The first volume in the archive ran on 8 July at Alquimia Bar, Piazza della Vittoria 20/B in Pavia: DJ set and drink promos, with a traffic-light dress code — red taken, yellow complicated, green single.
It is a good example of what we mean by a rule. The dress code is not a costume: it is a piece of information every person in the room is wearing, and it makes possible a conversation that would otherwise take ten minutes. The venue had nothing to explain at the door, because the rule explains itself as soon as you look around.
